– Face Painting & Balloon Competitions

Competitions will take place on Sunday between noon and 1:30pm
Registration for competitions will take place Sunday Morning.

Balloon Competition

Don't let your idea of competition scare you! We have something for all levels of Balloon Artists, from the beginner to the advanced.
Put some of what you have learned this weekend to work!

Mystery Balloon Competition

Each competitor will be given a small bag of balloons with various balloon types and colours. Competitors have 15 minutes to make whatever they wish.

• Only balloons provided for the competition may be used. (No additional balloons permitted)
• Balloon competitors need their own inflation device
• (up to) 10 points awarded based on balloons used (un-used balloons must be displayed)
• (up to) 10 pts awarded for creative use of balloons (balloon can be cut, un-inflated or inflated)
• (up to) 20 pts awarded for the WOW factor.

Birthday Party Balloon Competitions

Your Best Balloon Creation

• You must provide your own balloons and inflation device for this competition
• You will be given a maximum of 15 minutes to create your best balloon creation
• Up to 20 points awarded for creativity
• Up to 20 points awarded for WOW factor

Two Minute Balloon

The Two Minute Balloon Contest is an opportunity for every Balloon Artist to show what works for them in their world.

• You must provide your own balloons and inflation device for this competition.
• There will be a score out of 20 points based purely on the WOW factor.

Face Painting Competition

This is a fun competition designed to be a great ‘leveler’ from those who are just beginners to those with advanced skills and experiences.

• Any level of experience may compete.
• All competitors must provide their own model.
• All faces will be full face designs. (covering at least ¾ of the face)
• You will be given 15 minutes to complete your face.

No one, including the judges, will know the subject and parameters of what you will be painting until immediately prior to the start of the competition.

You will be instructed:

• The design (bug, cat, butterfly, etc)
• The two colours (plus black and white) you will use for your design
• A design element you must incorporate into your design (triangle, dot, swirl, teardrop, etc.)

This is a fun competition. I’ve seen people pick up a brush or sponge for the first time win this kind of competition. The trick is to have an open mind and go with your first instinct once you are told what the parameters are.
